Sunday Evenings are a strategic time of discipleship here at First Baptist Kemp! Our purpose is to not only help believers establish a firm foundation in the faith, but also learn how to grow into a biblical follower of Christ. Matthew 28:18-20 tells us to go make disciples. If we are to do this, then we must be in the process of being made into one as well. Sunday Evenings at First Baptist are a great opportunity to be made a disciple.
Over the past two years we have used some material to assist us in this process. Some of the material has been: Experiencing God, Organic Outreach, Neighboring Faiths, Crown Financial, Gripped by the Greatness of God, Radical, and PLACE.
Below are our upcoming Sunday “D in the Evening” Events! Please join us on Sunday evenings @ 5:00 p.m.
“The Imperfect Disciple”: September 3rd-24th
Here is a discipleship book that isn’t afraid to be honest about the mess we call real life. With incisive wit, warm humor, and moving stories, Jared Wilson shows readers how the Gospel works in and through us as God molds us spiritually.
“Can We Talk” : October 1st-November 5th
Can We Talk is specifically designed to help followers of Christ learn how to share Christ in every conversation. Join us as we practice, pray, and send teams out into our community with the Gospel
Membership Classes: Identity 101-401
(Fall 2017 date to be determined – Stay Tuned!)
Identity is all about our identity in Christ and our identity as First Baptist Kemp. We will explore who we are in Christ once we have confessed Him as Lord. In addition, we will grasp our purpose as a church and our strategy for fulfilling that purpose. 101 is the first step in the journey of becoming who God has made us to be.
201, 301 and 401 focus on spiritual disciplines, spiritual gifts, and mission mindedness.
