about
quillScripture and God

SCRIPTURE:: We believe the Word of God, comprised of both Old Testament and New Testament books, is both inspired and inerrant. We affirm its inspiration in the fact that God is the author having used men to pen His word to mankind. We affirm its inerrancy in that it is true and trustworthy..

GOD: We believe that there is only One God, and He exists unified as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that He is fulfilling His creative and redemptive plan for mankind.

HUMANITY:: We believe that man has been created for a relationship with God. However, because of sin, man is unable to initiate that relationship. We do affirm that man is able to respond to the initiating work of the Holy Spirit in his life upon hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ resulting in a saving relationship with Him.

SALVATION: We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sin, and was resurrected thus defeating sin and death. Man is saved when he places his faith in Jesus Christ knowing that Christ is the only sufficient payment for sin.

BAPTISM: We believe that baptism is an public expression of our identity with Christ in his death and resurrection after salvation. We believe baptism also serves as a challenge to the church to nurture those who are baptized in how to walk in the newness of life they have in Christ.

THE CHURCH: We believe the church is a local congregation comprised of individuals who have been saved and baptized. We do affirm the nature of the universal church in that it is comprised of redeemed individuals from the past, the present, and the future. However, it will only be realized when Christ returns and not until then.

Therefore, we are responsible for leading and nurturing the local church to be committed followers of Jesus Christ. We believe that the local church is not only the conduit through which man serves the Lord through worship and service, but also it is the catalyst through which God uses men and women as He accomplishes His redemptive will for mankind.
